UBIQUITY - Isabelle Jonniaux & Emmanuelle Raynaut
About
Ubiquity refers to the ability to be present in several places at once.
This concept forms the starting point for this immersive and participatory performance, conceived as a festive ceremony at the crossroads of theatrical writing and virtual reality. A ritual begins, in a large circle and through movement. The performers invite anyone who wishes to join them to do so, and fit them with virtual reality headsets.
Their vision changes; they are immersed in a digital and sensory world that prompts them to move and physically navigate their surroundings. Their movements, prompted by virtual reality, create a choreography that the dancers support, complement and enhance.
The headsets become masks; a shared, hybrid body emerges, fuelled by the energy of live electronic music – a joyful contagion, a breath of celebration and collective momentum.
