Focu Meu - Benjamin Kahn
About
In the Calabrian dialect, “focu meu” means ‘my fire’. This powerful, popular expression encapsulates joy, pain, anger and vitality, as well as loss and the urgency to exist.
Drawing on all these sensations of inner burning, Benjamin Kahn envisions a sensitive, epic and pagan ceremony. With his performers, bursts of music and chiaroscuro lighting, the artist creates a multifaceted spectacle in which bodies and elements intertwine and exhaust themselves, so that beauty may emerge from chaos.
Following three acclaimed solo works, including Bless the Sound that Saved a Witch like me, which was staged at Les Brigittines in March 2026, Benjamin Kahn is embarking for the first time on the adventure of creating a piece for a group, navigating the space between intimate cries and collective polyphony.
