Une voix chante. Un écran s’allume, des villes se superposent : Agrigente, Liège, peut-être New York. Et entre ces lieux, une question s'agite : et si plusieurs versions de nos vies existaient simultanément — autant de regards possibles sur soi et sur le monde? That’s the Way the Cookie Crumbles explore l’hypothèse du multivers et notre désir de fuir le réel pour en imaginer d’autres. Emilie Franco y tisse un lien entre le Reality Shifting — pratique de « voyage quantique » popularisée par des adolescent-es sur TikTok — et l’histoire d’exil de Marianna Belmonte, sa nonna centenaire qui aurait quitté la Sicile d’après-guerre en 1954 vers Liège et New York. Ce récit d’auto-fiction, basé sur des recherches de terrain, suit les traces du double de Marianna d’un continent à l’autre et mène Emilie à la rencontre de son propre alter-égo. Mêlant théâtre, musique live et cinéma, cette création invite à plonger dans une « réalité désirée », là où les fictions intimes ouvrent d’autres possibles.
